ROCKING THE LEOPARD CHAISE LOUNGE {Kim Mallory Chilliwack Boudoir Studio}

There’s nothing more divine for me than a new prop and the leopard chaise lounge is no exception! I’m what you call a prop addict. Just ask my husband who just shakes his head and rolls his eyes everytime I try to buy a new chair. Now that I have the studio I just make these sly trips down to grab my prop and take it straight to the studio and he’s none the wiser.  “Oh, that old thing, I’ve had it for ages”.  hehe. A girls gotta do what a girls gotta do….

Hit the Bricks {Kim Mallory Photography – Woman’s Portraits}

Well, I’m finally digging myself out of a rash of sessions that took place in Sept and October.  I honestly don’t think I’ve shot so many sessions in such a short time EVER.  It was crazy.  I barely had time to eat and sleep let alone make blog posts.    Now that things have leveled off a bit, I’m back to being able to share some of the sessions that I’ve shot over the last couple of months.

This is a session that I did of Angela.  She had her hair and make-up done by the lovely and talented Pam O’Keefe from the Hair Garage, a smokin hot outfit and of course what can you say about the Leopard shoes?  I mean they are to die for.   AND I had a hair piece at the studio that was a perfect match to her outfit.

What I love about this session is that Angela is totally in her comfort zone, she looks good, feels great and sometimes this is all you need to do to feel beautiful.  It’s not just about lingerie and sexy photos.  Sexy is a whole lotta different things as you can see from these photos.   So, if lingerie isn’t your thing doesn’t mean that you can’t be a Beautiful Woman you know.

Celebrating ONE YEAR in our downtown STUDIO!

I am SO excited to announce our One Year Anniversary of our downtown studio.   That went by super fast and holy, it was loads of fun too.

From the very first session I shot in the studio of  the very lovely, Trish, to my most recent session with Mrs. L last week; every woman that has walked through those doors is etched in my memory.  A year of special moments, new beginnings (and endings), tears, laughter and joy.  I have shot such a wide range of woman for a wide range of reasons all of them important and relevant.    My greatest joy this past year has been the transformation of so many girls… and envisioning each one standing in front of the mirror and she is no longer just “me”.   She is a beautiful woman….

So tomorrow, I will serve wine & cheese at the studio and greet those that come in and I know in my heart that you are there in spirit celebrating life and beauty (which is much more than just a pretty face) and knowing that you see it too makes this day even more special.

THANK YOU!  To all my friends, clients, family…. for your unwavering support for which I am forever grateful!

I hope you’ll join me Friday, November 11th, after The Remembrance Day Ceremonies for our Open House between 6pm & 9pm at 46130 Yale Road, Chilliwack, BC

xo

This is Trish… the first Beautiful Woman to grace the studio.

Some Insight on the Experience {Kim Mallory Boudoir Studio}

Meet the lovely and beautiful Ms M!

What made you decide to do a Beautiful Woman Session?

It started as part of redecorating my bedroom! I had a wall of wedding photos that I wanted to replace post divorce, but it is also something that I have always wanted to do. I wish I had done it when I was younger, particularly I wish I had done a photo shoot during my pregnancies.  I realized I have pictures all over my house of my kids, but very few of me. Also,  I’ve worked hard to stay in shape the past couple years and it was a personal way of celebrating that.

Why did you select The Beautiful Woman Project for your photo shoot?

I looked at a few websites, but Kim’s really stood out for me. They were unique, tasteful and she showcased all types, ages and sizes of women. I also liked the idea of her one stop studio

How was “the experience” for you?

It was fun! I wasn’t really sure what to expect, but the whole process from start to finish was a lot of fun. When I walked in I had a sudden attack of nervousness, but I quickly became comfortable (the wine helped) and by the end of my session I felt like I could have kept on going. I felt at ease with everyone I dealt with.

How did you feel when you first saw your photographs?

I was amazed. It was funny, because this idea really started as something for me, I wasn’t planning on showing more than a couple people the photos, but when I saw them I wanted to show them off. And as much as I wish I had done this years before, I am also glad that I have captured my ‘now’ self…does that make sense?

How has your perception of yourself changed since your session?

I`ve finally found pictures of me I like? lol…

What do you want other women to know about this experience??

It was such a great experience. I think if you have ever considered doing this you should go for it.  I would do it again in a heart beat.
And here are the results!  Some album pages…

TRASH THE DRESS {Kim Mallory Fraser Valley Photographer}

Take it out on the dress – Pretty liberating if you ask me. Great if you are divorced or just want to trash that thing that you paid way too much money for. ( Your kids are going to look at you like you are an alien if you suggest they wear it anyway.)   Bring a friend, it’s even more fun!!
